PHILOSOPHY OF NURSING EDUCATION

We the staff and students of Santushti Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences believe that "Health is state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely an absence of disease or infirmity." (Definition of health by WHO)

We believe that Optimum health is the right of every individual and we have the responsibility to function for the wellbeing of the individual, family and community.

We believe that "Nursing is primarily assisting the individual (sick or well) in performance of those activities contributing to health or its recovery (or to a peaceful death) that he would perfrom unaided

if he had the necessary strength, will or knowledge and to do this in such a way as to help him to gain independence as rapidly as possible." (Definition of nursing by ICN)

We believe that nursing education brings changes in the behavior of the student nurse so as to prepare her/him to play her/his roles effectively as an individual and as responsible citizen.

We believe in the all-round development of the students to become mature, self sufficient, culturally refined, socially efficient and spiritually advanced.
